“Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the stories you tell.”

Hi, I’m Stephanie. Most friends call me Steph, and my favorite name will always be Mommy.

With nearly two decades of experience in marketing, digital strategy, public relations and brand storytelling, I help organizations tell their stories, strengthen their brands and connect with the audiences who matter most.

My expertise spans digital marketing strategy, social media, Meta and Google advertising, public relations, content development, email marketing and integrated campaigns. I specialize in bringing strong creative and smart strategy together with data and analytics to build awareness, grow audiences and deliver measurable results.

Today, through Stephanie Barrow Consulting, I partner with mission-driven organizations and businesses across the nonprofit, arts and culture sectors. I serve as Digital Marketing Manager for the Corey C. Griffin Foundation and lead marketing for the North Charleston POPS!, while also working with other noteworthy organizations to strengthen their digital presence, reach new audiences and communicate their impact.

From developing organic social strategies and compelling content to managing Meta and Google Ads campaigns, I understand how the pieces of a modern marketing strategy need to work together. I’m equally comfortable developing the big-picture strategy, digging into campaign performance and analytics, or finding the story that will make someone stop scrolling and pay attention.

I’m excited to learn your story.

Here is a little of mine…

My career began after college in Blacksburg, Virginia, when my love of the arts and big-city life took me first to New York City and then to Los Angeles. In LA, I worked as a speaker’s bureau agent in Beverly Hills, booking nationally recognized speakers for events and conferences before transitioning into entertainment publicity, where I worked with Academy Award-winning actors.

In 2010, I moved to Nashville and joined Music City Networks, helping develop and execute digital strategies for artists including Lady A, Sara Evans, Little Big Town and Josh Turner. Working closely with artist management and record label teams, I oversaw website redesigns, digital marketing initiatives, merchandise strategy and fan club programs.

I later joined Idea Den, where I managed digital branding strategy and fan engagement programs for Brad Paisley, The Band Perry, STYX and The Doors estate. Those years gave me an invaluable foundation in building passionate online communities, creating compelling digital experiences and understanding how strong storytelling can turn an audience into an engaged community.

Eventually, I traded Music City for the Lowcountry and made Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, home. My work expanded beyond entertainment into agency leadership, client relations, social media, nonprofit marketing, public relations and community engagement. I’ve also had the opportunity to speak at the South Carolina Nonprofit Summit and other industry events, sharing insights from my experience in digital marketing and communications.

My involvement in Charleston’s marketing community has become an important part of my career. I served as President of the Charleston American Marketing Association and continue to support the organization as Past President. I also co-host The Charleston Marketing Podcast, where we explore the people, ideas and strategies shaping marketing in our community and beyond. In 2023, I was honored to be named Charleston Marketer of the Year at the Spark! Awards.

Today, I bring nearly two decades of experience across entertainment, agency, nonprofit and consulting work to every client relationship. I’m especially passionate about partnering with nonprofits, foundations, arts and cultural organizations and purpose-driven businesses where strategic marketing can do more than generate awareness. It can build community, inspire action and advance a mission.

Whether you need a stronger digital strategy, Meta or Google Ads management, compelling content, social media leadership, public relations support or an experienced marketing partner who can see the big picture while still managing the details, I’m here to help.

Let’s tell your story, grow your reach and make your marketing matter.

She is dependable, incredibly responsive, knows how to communicate to keep projects moving and everyone in the loop without adding extra email volume. She deftly manages internal politics in a positive way that gets things done. Better yet, I knew she would always keep me on track when things got crazy.
